The Story Behind Our Nothing-to-Hide Approach

In 2001, the telecom industry was heating up, with every major carrier and cable company battling over market share and who could build the strongest network. These companies knew reliable hardware was critical for uptime, but they also needed to think cost-effectively. So they ventured into the pre-owned market. Problem was, they never knew exactly how much value they would find there.

Despite the potential cost savings, there just was too much hidden data, too many hidden risks, and too many hidden agendas in this world. Someone had to take a nothing-to-hide approach. And that’s how Sagent was born. From day one, we began uncovering new value that had been hiding in the network.

Soon, Fortune 500s, government entities, and even the OEMs themselves saw the value of this new approach. To keep up with all the demand, we expanded into a 100,000+ sq. ft. facility with the industry’s largest inventory of new, surplus, and pre-owned telecommunication networking equipment.
